Just to remind you that this is the last week for finishing your film openings. We will be showcasing them next Wednesday 3rd March.

I hope you are enjoying half term. Don't forget that when we return to school you have one week to complete your film opening. There will be opportunities do editing outside of classroom time. You simply need to arrange the times with Mr Shaikh or me.

Just a quick reminder to all year 12 students,this is the last week in which you should be filming. After this week you should be devoting all your time to editing. Please make sure you stick to this schedule so that you don't fall behind with your production.

During the next two weeks you should aim to complete your filming and re-filming. You should also be starting the editing process. And don't forget to keep your blogs up to date.

Please take an opportunity to look up Hurtwood house media. Find them through Google then go into Media Gallery. You will find examples of film openings completed by students at this college. Watch a few of them. They will give you some ideas of what you might be able to do.

Happy new year to all year 12 students. I hope you all had a good Christmas break.

Because of the weather conditions I may not be in your lesson today, Friday 8th January. If that is the case your instructions are as follows:

You have this week and next to complete the following:

Complete all preliminary filming.
Upload and review all footage.
Plan all necessary re-filming.
Record your activities on your blog.

We have a tight schedule for this term so please try to keep to the timetable I am providing.

Hello Year 12 students,

I am sorry to have missed a whole week of your lessons but I understand that your presentations on your film proposals went well. You should now be well underway with your planning. You need a firm proposal for the film, a storyboard, a location plan, a list of props, costumes etc and a cast. You should also put some of these things on your blog. Between now and next week I would also like you to put an account of the planning process on your blogs.

In terms of filming we are a little behind so you need to avoid delay. You should aim to have most of your initial footage completed by the time we come back in January.

In this weeks lessons you should be planning or filming depending on how far you have got.

I hope you all had a good half term. This week we are going to watch "Bullet Boy" as our third and last film text. While watching you obviously need to be thinking about issues of representation. I will not be setting any home learning on this for two reasons: firstly most of you (not Tristan or Rachel) have work which is outstanding from last half term and this needs to be caught up as a matter of urgency, and secondly several of you are still grappling with personal statements. Get these things sorted out and we will begin work on "Bullet Boy" next week.
